Wifi works intermittently on 18.04 with Qualcomm Atheros AR2413/AR2414

0

I'm running a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. I'm completely new to this OS.
The problem I ran into, is that every few minutes I seem to lose connection, even if the WiFi logo shows as connected. And after a few more minutes it's working again.

On Firefox I get the error "Secure Connection Failed" after around 20 seconds of waiting, but in this time the whole system seems to be offline (if I'm downloading something with the console, it stops as well).

I don't think this is a driver issue, because if I ping my router while the connection is lost, I get between 2 and 5 ms.

I've tried with both Google's and my ISP DNS servers with the same results.
If I use Windows 7 on the same computer, everything works just fine.
