Installing 18.04 on Dell Inspiron all-in-one isn't working

0

Just unpacked Dell AIO. 3000 series. Installed Ubuntu from USB. Install works. I shut down and try to restart and get nothing. A blank screen. It just seems to hang there. I tried starting again, doing the install again and I get to the same problem. Install works, I shut down, try to startup and again it just hangs. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Edit: I can get into Ubuntu from the boot options after hitting f12 but this is for my parents and they won't want to do this each time...

Edit again: seems to work now but I'm still worried about those initial problems so please don't resolve this yet!
