Printer problems — HP M1005 MFP

0

I have an old (>10 years) mono HP printer, M1005. This model is included in the list of those supported by HPLIP (now installed), but my laptop still refuses to even acknowledge the USB lead is plugged in. I'm running a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 and am a newbie to all this. Any thoughts?

    Does "sudo lsusb" show it?

  • Your printer requires proprietary driver plugin (see official HPLIP table). Please connect USB cable to printer and to computer, power them on, add output of lsusb and hp-diagnose_plugin to the question.
