How do I share a virtual printer to both Unix* and windows users?
I have written an new backend for cups in order to create a virtual printer with some customized functionality. The problem is I cannot share the virtual printer with Windows users.
When I shared it via samba, they couldn't install it since they needed a driver. I tried some windows generic driver, but they didn't show printer's options correctly. Despite, they were able to sent the data towards the printer but cups didn't use filters that I mentioned them into the PPD file that I had written. I've tried IPP and that didn't work for me, as well.
- How can I produce a driver for a virtual printer?
- Can I create an inf file based on PPD file, how?
- Can I a real printer's PPD file and use its windows driver to solve this problem?
- Or any other suggestions?
