Issues while booting Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

0

I recently changed my operating system from Windows to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. 3 days ago, when it started booting these options appeared:

  • Ubuntu

  • Advanced options for Ubuntu

  • Memory test (memtest86+)

  • Memory text (memtest86+, serial console 115200)

When I choose the first and second options, a black screen appears with commands after entering password. Then have to write a password again for welcome page and black screen appears again like before. And so on.

make sure you have internet access than when you see the black screen after the login page hit CTRL+ALT+F1 to get a terminal then put your username and password (don't worry if password don't show up) then do sudo apt update && sudo apt -y full-upgrade then reboot
