Dual monitor setup, single click, DVD play, can't wake from inactivity
I'm overseas (Tassie) using a loaner [dinosaur] HP Pavilion t550a and I need help, please. It's been almost 10 years since I used Linux (Ubuntu and Fedora) and a dev console.
I don't have time to learn on my own again.
I installed 16.xx 32 bit (took 2 times), tried to upgrade to 18.xx but crashed/ froze during installation so I reinstalled 16.xx again (3rd time is the charm right?).
how do I extend the display to the 32" TV?
Hooked up with HDMI special cable from a DVI port (preferably) or Chrome Cast Ultra. How do I setup single click?
Update: solved: it started working properly on it's own shortly after posting this questions. No clue why.
- How to make a DVD auto play? I insert a blank DVD or CD and nothing happens? I insert several pre-recorded DVDs and it shows the title but won't play...?
Update: solved: with the monitor "turn off" setting on never and manual suspend it behaves properly.
- While I was typing this post I left the room, came back to a dark screen with the PC running, but it wouldn't wake up, restarted and luckily this nice forum or chromium had saved a draft. This isn't the first time the screen has gone dark and won't wake after extended inactivity.
I've set the screen turn off to never, hope this helps.
The CMOS battery is still missing, could this be an issue?
Thanks much in advance for any help.
PS. Good thing I have my Android Tab 4!...
