Hello I've done some research but would like more direct answers. I'm obviously new to this so I'm sorry if the questions are stupid

1) So when building a new PC, ideally to get it to boot a OS I'd need to put Ubuntu 18.10 on a USB and start the PC w the USB. It works the same as windows 10 yeah? Or is there something more I gotta do w Ubuntu to start installation

2) I've read up on Kernel compatibility issues with Ryzen 3 2200g CPU (I'm using MSI B450m mobo). Is that just for 18.04 LTS or was this updated with 18.10

  • Ubuntu 18.10 is based on the Linux release series 4.18, which some Ubuntu users report works OK with the Ryzen 3 2200g CPU. Try a live session with an Ubuntu live DVD/USB before installing Ubuntu.
