Unresponsive device shut down while in use and won't start/charge
Any suggestions to get my computer to do anything will be appreciated. When I plug it in the light for charging doesn't even come on.
Output before shutdown:
[22969.147328] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: PCIe Bus error: severity=corrected, type=Physical Layer, id=00e0(Receiver ID)
[22969.147355] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: device [8086:a110] error status/mask=00000001/00002000
[22969.147376] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: [ 0] Receiver Error (First)
Then after 10-30 seconds this bad line came up:
[23009.448880] thermal thermal_zone0: critical temperature reached (110 C), shutting down
Hardware
- Zareason Strata 8110
- Processor: i7-6700HQ (Intel)
- Other info available if relevant
Software
- Ubuntu 18 (the stable release)
- Don't remember the exact details and can't access them
Miscellaneous info
It's a pre-built Linux laptop, a bit over 2 years old. I was using it normally, running a game which uses a lot of processing power but normally runs fine. When I felt the computer for heat, the only thing I noticed was a warm (not hot) battery which I immediately removed and cooled to room temp. I have not checked the heat paste situation because I'm not experienced enough in hardware repair. Also, the battery had a charge before the crash.
