How to screen record only one workspace or selected workspaces in Ubuntu 18.04?

0

Is there any software to record only one or multiple workspaces in Ubuntu 18.04.

I want to make a tutorial video and I want only one workspace to record and not the other one.

And please note, I'm not asking about recording any particular Area or Window or Screen, I'm talking about a particular Workspace in Ubuntu.

Here is a YouTube video showing Workspace in Ubuntu.

screen recorders record the Display, either in full or part of. They don't have any concept of workspaces. So while recording don't go to another workspace..

@MrShunz See doug's and my comments above. I don't see how "an area of the screen can be a single workspace". If you set an area for recording and then switch to another workspace, it would record the preassigned area from both the workspaces.

@pomsky Yeah, I think what doug suggested is a relatively a good advice. I also did some search on screen recorders but I could not find one. So I thought to ask it on StackOverflow. But now I think there is no such recorder with workspace specific recording feature.

I've used RecordMyDesktop (downloadable from the Ubuntu Software Centre) a number of times quite successfully to assist in responding to questions posed on Ask Ubuntu.
