Ubuntu 18.04 Installation does not recognize hardware RAID

0

I have a server with ASRock EP2C612D8C with two Xeon Processors few months ago. I wanted to install latest Ubuntu (16.04 or 18.04) with RAID support, but my supplier told me that it supports up to Ubuntu 12.04 only. Whereas Ubuntu 12.04 is an outdated version and current simulation packages don't match. Can I install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS or Ubuntu 18.04 LTS by updating BIOS?

Note: It has Intel's C612 chipset RAID.

  • I tried it keeping the same BIOS, unfortunately only Software RAID was available...

  • I am sorry... perhaps I'm a layman. It actually has a built in RAID mechanism.

  • Thanks buddy, user68186. But I am more confused and probably Ubuntu versions after 12.04 LTS don't recognize hardware RAID.
