吉田 半兵衛（よしだ はんべえ、生没年不詳）とは、江戸時代初期の京都の浮世絵師。



来歴


姓吉田氏、名は定吉。京都四条通御旅所の後方に住んでいた。庄五郎という者について絵画を学んぶ。これらのほかは一切が不明の人物である。しかし浮世絵版画の初期、貞享年間に関西における版下絵師として、江戸の菱川師宣に匹敵、対抗する存在で、志茂村七郎兵衛と共に上方の出版界を担った。井原西鶴の浮世草子の挿絵でも著名であるが、多くの図彙や浄瑠璃本などをも描き、元禄5年（1692年）頃まで活躍した。元禄5年以降作品が見当たらないため、その頃没したとされる。


井原西鶴のものでは、貞享3年（1686年）刊行の『好色一代女』、『好色五人女』、翌貞享4年（1687年）の『武道伝来記』の挿絵を描き、他に延宝9年（1681年）の『源氏御色遊』(改題後印本に『好色花薄(すすき)』)、貞享3年（1686年）色事に関する初の百科事典『好色訓蒙図彙』、貞享4年（1687年）の『女用訓蒙図彙』、『好色貝合』などの春画を著作及び作画した。
