Slow Ubuntu 18.04 boot time (after BIOS post)

0

I have 18.04.1 LTS Ubuntu installed, and I have been experiencing relatively slow boot times (30s) considering that I have a fast SSD (860 EVO). I have disabled secure boot. To see what processes are happening, I have edited the grub file under /etc/default/grub

Specifically, I made

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""

and uncommended

GRUB_TERMINAL=console

So here's what boot looks like:
1. reboot, screen turns off
2. screen turns on
3. BIOS screen appears
4. This screen appears (hwmatch) for at least 10 seconds
like this

  1. Then a long scrolling text
    like this

System-analyze gives me 8.295s (firmware) + 13.947s (loader) + 3.357s (kernel) + 1.765s (userspace) = 27.365s

Thank you, any help appreciated!
