Dummy output audio sporadically

0

So I had the problem of a dummy output of audio. Rebooted, the problem went away and I had audio. A couple of hours later it had magically disappeared again. I assume if I reboot again it will fix itself, only to sporadically have the same problem again.

Some commands that may or may not help speed this process:

eljamoquio@DrFancyPants:~$ pacmd list-cards
0 card(s) available.
eljamoquio@DrFancyPants:~$ unity-control-settings
unity-control-settings: command not found
eljamoquio@DrFancyPants:~$ lspci -nnk | grep -A2 Audio
00:1f.3 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio [8086:9d71] (rev 21)
Subsystem: Lenovo Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio [17aa:381c]
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_soc_skl
