So i bought this usb pcie card. It has 2 usb 3 type A ports and 1 usb type c port. It is called the Vantec 3-Port USB 3.0 Type-A/C PCIe Host Card. I installed it in my system (in a pcie 2.0 slot), disabled legacy usb compatibility in BIOS ( as suggested by another post), and when I boot Ubuntu 18 and plug in a flash drive, The flash drive is not recognized. Nothing is. Here are some error logs and information, How do I fix this? Thanks in advance:

If you open a terminal, and enter the command sudo journalctl -f and then plug in your flash drive, what error messages are presented.

  • the journal ctf says nothing at all. It just starts a session and outputs nothing extra when I plug in my usb. It does ofcourse output messages when I plug it in my front panel ports. Its as if its not detected at all
