I have tried several versions of Linux, including: Ubuntu 11, 18.4, Fedora,Cinnamon, Mint, etc. but none recognizes the wireless on my laptop and are slow as Christmas. What is the best version for an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop? I am getting tired of fooling with Linux type products! Thanks,

1. Don't try EOL versions like 11.xx or 12.xx. Instead install 16.04 or 18.04 for better support. 2. After installing determine your wireless card and search/ask question about problems/installation of drivers.

Adding to @Kulfy: You don’t have to install Ubuntu before searching for questions about wireless drivers. You can do it in the live session provided by the installer (“Try Ubuntu before installing”). You can try if you can get your wireless adapter working within the live session to determine which distro is the right for you. However, you’d have to redo these steps after installing. A blind guess: askubuntu.com/questions/55868/…
