Sda and sdb showing in partition manager on one hard drive

0

I have /sda and /sdb in my partition manager when installing ubuntu bionic beaver 18.04

I can only modify the /sda partition and since I have only one hard drive in my laptop I was wondering what was sdb doing there then.

Does this affect my performance or OS somehow?

Every thought is appreciated!

Are you installing from a USB stick? sorry if this is obvious but is sdb maybe the stick?
