I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu 16.04 on a Lenovo Yoga 900. It's on my external hard drive. I used Universal USB Installer (Rufus for some reason didn't recognize my external drive that I'm using but Universal did...) I tried pressing Enter under install Ubuntu, it rebooted and came back to same screen, pressing tab under Install Ubuntu makes some code appear at the bottom, but it won't do anything else (I gave it 15 minutes), until I press Enter 3 times, then it will boot into the other screen again and bring me back to the Ubuntu Installer boot menu.

Any ideas? Here are some pictures. I'm totally lost, and don't know what to do. I enabled some legacy features as I read you had to do.

I think you might need to try and press "Try Ubuntu without installing". From there on your desktop there will be an installer. I am not sure if this works but try it man.

          • yeah i tried that and it did the same thing, along with clicking advanced options and the other options that are available. Thanks for your input though, i appreciate it

          • So.... Try couple of these options. (You don't need to do them step by step those are just so options that i can offer) 1. Tell me how you recorded Ubuntu on your USB flash drive. (I installed save way btw) 2. Try checking for another version or check compatibility. (I am pretty sure everyone gets kinda another installation screen but my installation screen was kinda different but okay it's a BIOS thing or somethin...) 3. When its says press TAB for options try to just not press it and wait little bit. Thats all what i can offer for now. Good luck.

          • My problems have nothing to do with device compatibility. Waiting and not pressing tab, just boots again and cycles back to Ubuntu boot menu, as I stated above.
