usb-c video dongle attached but no video out detected
I am on latest ubuntu 18.10 with latest updates installed. laptop has HD620 with 3 clock generators. One for built-in, one for hdmi-out, and one I hope for usb-c out.
I use lusb and it shows
2109:0100 via labs inc
when i connect my USB-c video dongle thing.
I have a DVI-out attached to it. None of my monitors can detect video from it. How do i verify that it can process video? Why can't my laptop send video out of the USB-c hole? If it exposes USB-c shouldn't video be supported out of that hole? How do I verify these things?
