Linker not able to find shared libraries in LD_LIBRARY_PATH

0

I had an error according to some /some/path/*hdf5*.so file missing while building the application, so I added in LD_LIBRARY_PATH location of this file.

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/some/path/

This environment variable is listed in the env output, and I run sudo ldconfig and it returns no error. But when I try to build my application it says again that file *hdf5*.so is missing.
As I understand linker should firstly try to search in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and there is a directory that contains needed file. How can I fix this?

Ubuntu 18.04
