VLC's dependencies unmet problem
I was trying to play an mp4 file but the video player said "H.264 High Profile decoder" was unavailable. I downloaded a package, but the mp4 still didn't play. I tried downloading VLC to play the mp4 file, but whenever I try installing it, the VLC dependencies are unmet or there's something being run.
What should I do?

You probably should installvlcwithsudo apt install vlc, rather than downloading stuff from somewhere. Let the packaging system worry about dependencies. Useapt-cache search vlcandapt-cache search H.264to find packages to install.

If you want to install decoders, this might help. If you want to install vlc, either install from APT (as waltinator mentioned) or from snap
